David Soos, owner and founder of Soos Stained Glass, was born in 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio. From 1968 to 1972, he was stationed at the Little Rock Air Force base. During that time, David took numerous classes at the Arkansas Arts Center where he studied in many different medias, including ceramics, sculpture, and hot glass. After his military service ended, David went back to Cleveland where he became interested in stained glass and began to study under a local stained glass artist. However, his stint in Cleveland did not last long; David came back to Arkansas in 1973.
Throughout the seventies, David worked in many different settings, such as the Mashburn Stained Glass studio in North Little Rock, where he worked for five years, and the Crossett Public Schools where he was the artist-in-resident for one year, all the while, expanding and sharing his knowledge of stained and leaded glass. In 1979, David left Mashburn and founded Soos Stained Glass, which quickly became and has remained a successful business. |

David has been fortunate over the years to assemble a talented staff of employees to help him create a successful business since 1979; many of them working for him for over 20 years. David has been a stained glass designer for many years, but has also collaborated with many other contractors and designers, including the Arizona -based stained glass artisan Maureen McGuire, in order to create a design that is complementary to one's home, business, or church. |
