About Us
Since 1979...

...Soos Stained Glass has produced stained glass windows incorporating quality design plus exceptional craftsmanship in our fabrication and installation.

Our guiding principals are rooted in the history and traditions of the 1000-year-old art form of stained glass, our creations should last for hundreds of years. We fabricate each piece with the goal of insuring its survival and enjoyment for generations to come.

These works of art are often produced in harmony with the wishes, ideas, and needs of clients, committees, architects, designers, and general contractors. We always strive to produce a unified artwork without sacrificing the aesthetics of a finished commission. We have also collaborated with other designers, such as Maureen McGuire of Phoenix, Arizona, and have installed works for Peters Studios of Paderborn, Germany.

Studio

The 5,000-square-foot studio of Soos Stained Glass is a facility with a full range of stained glass services, including:

• design and fabrication of new windows for religious, residential, and
public settings.
• repair and restoration services
• painting and firing glass
• abrasive etching
• glass fusing
• protective glazing services

The studio maintains an extensive inventory of sparkling domestic machine-rolled glasses plus unique mouth-blown European and domestic antique glasses which provide a palette of endless combinations for our work. This large inventory also contains many glasses that were made by companies that have been out of business for decades. A treasury of hard-to-find old glasses, it is a great resource for our restoration of historic windows.

Soos Stained Glass is an Arkansas-licensed, fully insured contractor. We employ a staff of many talented, experienced, and dedicated craftspeople that execute the studio’s designs. The thousands of projects we have worked on over our years in business have ranged from small residential windows to a church in Florida where we designed and installed over 6,000 square feet of stained glass.

Soos Stained Glass has received many awards, including the Quapaw Quarter Association Certificate of Merit and the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas Award for outstanding work in historic preservation in Arkansas.

Who we are

David Soos
David Soos was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1949. A move to Arkansas during his Air Force enlistment from 1968 to 1972 started David on his path in stained glass. While stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base, he spent most of his free time at the Arkansas Arts Center, enrolled in classes of many different media including, ceramics, sculpture, and glass blowing. The glass blowing experience led to his interest in stained glass. After his Air Force discharge, he returned to Cleveland and enrolled in classes at a local stained glass studio. He returned to Arkansas in 1974 and was self-employed in stained glass for a year, then worked for another studio, Mashburn Stained Glass, before opening his own business in 1979.

David was also a faculty member at the Arkansas Arts Center for five years and has had his work exhibited in many juried museum shows over the years.
